Training Course: Conducting Experimental Infections in Fish and Shellfish
Category:NewsAQUAEXCEL3.0 project, funded from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme, is organizing the training course Conducting Experimental Infections in Fish and Shellfish.
The course will take place online, on November 11th during 9:00 – 15:30 (CEST) and November 12th between 9:00 – 14:10 (CEST) and it provides comprehensive training covering both basic and advanced concepts in the design and analysis of experimental infection trials in fish and shellfish.
In order to offer a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects, the course is divided into two parts, starting with self-paced lectures covering fundamental theoretical topics, such as ethical considerations for using animals in experiments, designing infection trials, evaluating pathogens and pathologies, analyzing results of infection trials in fish, and general concepts of vaccines. The second part will feature live lectures concentrating on applying the theoretical information learned in the first part to real infection trial using several fish species and bivalves and different types of pathogens (virus, bacteria, and parasites).
Course attendance is free. In order to register, please access the following link: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=sI6uudSy0EOinUfXJkPhgypypYo3CiFOgj4r6LNYWh9UODJBSkI2RlpDWUdaN1dUMUNSRUZMWEUxNS4u
